About Me

My name is Nina, and I’m writing from Maine. I’m beginning a (lot) of new chapters in my life and I wanted to share my story along the way. On top of being a newly wed, buying a home, and currently pregnant, I thought I would try out blogging. My full-time job is teaching 6th grade social studies.

My husband Joe and I got married in July 2016. Our wedding was amazing for a few reasons…the thunderstorm and hail passing by stopped literally minutes before I walked down the aisle, I married my best friend, and we found out one month later that our baby boy began his journey¬†that night.

Before finding out about our baby, we found a home that we fell in love with. Slowly, we are renovating our first home, a 1848 farmhouse. I love decorating and roaming antique shops to fill my old home and I want to share our progress with you along the way.

Days after closing on our house, we found out we are pregnant with our first child. In December 2016, we found out two things. One, we are having a boy, and two, he has transposition of the great arteries, or TGA. TGA is a rare heart disease in which the two main arteries are reversed. He will be undergoing surgery after he is born. We are both very excited to meet him, but very nervous about the start of this adventure.

So, as my life changes drastically and I learn many lessons about being a new mom, wife, and home owner, I hope to inform, inspire, or at the very least, entertain any readers along the way.
