Winter won’t seem to leave, but it’s spring inside my home! If you are looking for some spring home decor ideas and DIY projects, take a look at some springy pops of color and my DIY chalkboard wall ideas.
This chalkboard wall has been a lifesaver already! With Everett’s heart condition, we have weekly appointments with multiple doctors, locations, and times. I made the calendar extra large so that we would pay attention to it. The calendar is also easy to snap a picture of on our phones so that we can check our schedules whenever we need to. I bought the chalk paint at Home Depot. It was easy to use and dried super fast. A nice uplifting message doesn’t hurt either
My nieces made pictures for Everett, so I drew some frames in chalk and hung up the photos with tape. I might add some real photos to the wall as well.
I also added some chalk paint to the playroom. I found the mountain idea on pinterest. For now, I just put the lyrics to the song my grandmother used to sing. The tentis from Target’s pillow fort collection. They also have a tent in black and white, I love the white with the pops of color in the tassel. My niece enjoyed popping out of it during the baby shower, and my cat, Snuffy, loves to pop out and attack my feet when I walk by it. The pops of color are more enjoyable than the pop out attacks.
I filled the house with fake plants from Michaels. I would love to have real plants, but I kill them. Every. Single. Time.
